Happy Friday! We are witnessing the many amazing signs of the beginning of spring here in North Carolina. The trees and plants are once again showing off their color and the view of the mountains seems to be changing by the hour. There is a wonderful quote in the movie "Being There" starring Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine from Chance the Gardener (Peter Sellers character) "Yes! There will be growth in the spring!"

The focus of this week's Friday News Minute is your personal growth and change. In case you are interested in the movie, I've included a link for the movie trailer at the end.

You say you want to grow and want to change...but you are stuck in the "known"

"Everything that is alive for you is in the unknown. Everything that you know is already dead to you." - Stuart Wilde, Infinite Self Audio Program

I admit it. The first time I heard those words I though that Stuart Wilde was absolutely insane. How can what I know "be dead to me"! How ridiculous!

But after throwing my little emotional fit I stepped back and examined those words again.

"Everything that is alive for you is in the unknown. Everything that you know is already dead to you."

He doesn't mean "alive" and "dead" literally. He was talking about how the "unknown" brings us to life, helps us to grow and change...to be alive in new and different ways.

What we "know" is comfortable. It does not challenge us to grow or to change.

Some of the people that I have met in North Carolina have told me that "the mountains come alive in the spring." I challenge you to come alive this spring too!

I challenge you to visit and do things that are unknown to you. To come "alive" by seeking out the unknown each day for the next 90 days.

To make these next 90 days an interactive experience, I have set up a blog for us to share with each other what happened on our visits to the unknown. Here is the link: http://90daysofcomingalive.blogspot.com/

I have already posted my first blog up for you to read! Thanks for being sharing and involved!
