Gratitude

Thursday is a day to reflect and offer gratitude for the things we take for granted in life. We are being given the opportunity to listen to our hearts, embrace our values, and develop new ways of being in this world. We have elected a new president who has the ability to pull together this diverse nation, one that offers hope, and change.

I encourage you to make a choice to be grateful for what you have in your life. I believe when we express gratitude, and take stock in the blessings in our life we shift into a positive mind set.  Spread some positive energy around by taking a few minutes to express gratitude for what is important in your life and smile. I just did….

I am grateful for the men and women serving our country to keep us safe, even if I don't agree with the politics of it all.  I am grateful for my family, friends, associates, customers, neighbors, and all those that cross my path and offer a smile, a glance, a chat in line at the grocery store, a special message that touches my heart, a piece of information that guides me to new learning, awareness, a place of peace or just something fun.  I am grateful for my loving husband who is by my side each day, sharing life with me.

I am grateful for the roof over my head, food on the table, and people to share it with.  I am filled with gratitude that I woke up this morning, could see, hear and touch the beauty around me.  I am thankful to be able to walk to the barn, smell the crisp morning air, feel the snow in my hair and the nuzzle of my horse on my face, hear the gentle purr of my furry little cats, the ability to lift a bale of hay to feed the horses, and to watch them run through the pasture.

I am filled with gratitude for the stillness, silence, and abundance of animals that live on the land we shepherd.  I have gratitude for the buck and doe that grace me with their presence.  I have gratitude for thousands of birds that share their migration with me each year, and that they rest in the trees on our land.  I have gratitude for our creator that provided such wonders and beauty for us to enjoy.

We are all blessed in many ways.  Tell loved ones how much you care, don't assume you can do it tomorrow... you might not have another chance.  Today and throughout the weekend, stop, breath in the beauty, reflect, and drink in all that is special in your life. Give thanks for all your blessings.

Remember….  "Your day goes the way the corners of your mouth turn. So smile." Bill Keane, Family Circus 11/17/08

With gratitude, thanks, and blessings for being part of my life!

Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving
